Fixing a Fujitsu Laptop Power Supply
With the explosive of technology and all that it brings—headaches and frustration at times—the production of high-end brands of laptops and the needs to use them for productivity is inevitable. Fujitsu is one of the most popular brand names in the competitive industry of laptops and mobile computing. The company created a line that they called the Lifebook to compete with the products of other renowned companies such as Apple and Dell. Although the company designed this model to be durable and stable, common damage to the internal components of the Lifebook is still possible. The Fujitsu laptop power supply is just one of the parts that are prone to breakage. Anything that is related to the word damage is really frustrating. But the great thing about this laptop is that you can fix its power jack on your own with a little know how. All you have to do is to follow some simple instructions and have your screwdriver and soldering iron handy.
The first thing that you need to do is to remove the power cable on your Lifebook. You also have to remove the CD/DVD drive on the side of the device before you slide out the battery. Once the battery is removed, it’s time to unscrew the hard drive compartment cover that is found at the bottom part of the laptop. Once unscrewed, you can now slide out the hard drive of your Lifebook. Now proceed to unscrewing the rest of the screws including the ones that are located at the backside corner, beside the power jack and screen hinges. This will allow you to open the screen and find the plastic guard that you need to safely put aside.
Make sure that you disconnect all of the ribbons and cables located below the screen. Then remove the keyboard and place it face down on the track pad. You can do this by unplugging the connector ribbon that can be found at the back of the keyboard. Using your screwdriver, loosen up the screws on each side of the LCD screen so that you can lift it up. Continue loosening the screws so that you can unattached the top panel of the laptop. Look for the green motherboard where the Fujitsu laptop power supplies are usually connected. Remove this section from the motherboard of the laptop so that you can locate where the problem is. Once you have spotted the damaged power jack, use your soldering iron to fix the connectors that have been loosened from the board. Now it’s time for you to reassemble your Lifebook and find out if your fixer!
