Asus Laptop Power Supply: The Basics
The power supply of a computer is necessary for it to work. Without the electricity from a power source, a laptop can be considered useless or might as well be a paper weight. Every individual who owns a computer or laptop knows the importance of the power supply, however, most fail to take good care of it. After many months of usage, the average power supply of any computer is likely to deteriorate. Irreversible damage on an Asus laptop power supply may even occur in just a split second. That is why precautions must be observed in order to stop any deterioration from happening on a well-loved device.

A laptop power supply is the only way for a laptop to work. Once it is damaged, it needs to be replaced as soon as possible as to avoid risk of losing information. A power supply is mostly composed of two different parts: the battery and the AC adapter. Overtime, a laptop battery has to be replaced since most won’t last for a very long time. This goes out to any laptop brands, including Asus. All laptops come with a battery that is mostly found on the underside of a laptop. An average battery can only last up to 90 minutes; therefore, they need to be recharged. By simply plugging the ac adapter into an electrical outlet, one can recharge the device. Also, any computer is equipped with an indicator that usually gives a warning as to when it needs to be recharged. On the other hand, an AC adapter is standard with the laptop. The standard model shipped with the laptop is obviously the best power supply for that particular laptop, yet over the years replacements and universal power supplies have made it possible to find other options for replacement besides the original manufacturer.
Many people believed that once a power supply is damaged, one must purchase a replacement from the same brand of the laptop. This used to be true, even with Asus laptop power supplies and some still feel this is the best route to take. But most people do not know that many laptops, of different brands, can now be powered by a universal power supply which is less expensive. So, if your power supply happens to be damaged, you don’t necessarily have to purchase the same brand power supply.
