  1. First thing one must do is to switch off the computer by selecting the shut down button on the menu. Disconnect the power cable and unplug all the power cords. Gently lay the monitor face down on top position. Make sure you place a soft cloth or a blanket to avoid scratches on the monitor.
  2. Second, on the bottom edge of the monitor, locate three screws. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, turn the screws in the left direction until they stop. Don’t use force and try to remove them since they were design to be loosened only. Then, gently tilt the monitor by holding the foot of the computer. Try to open the monitor but never force it open.
  3. Third, make sure you’re grounded by touching the metal surface either on the edge of the computer or on the desk. Unless you own a grounding bracelet. Never touch the motherboard until you’ve grounded yourself. The power supply can be found at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Fourth, loosen the two brass colored screws located on the corners of the power supply by turning them to the left. Loosen the middle screw of the power supply by turning it to the left or counter clockwise as well. The screws should be loose enough that you can remove the power supply unit.
  5. Fifth, by disconnecting the cable at the top of the unit, you should be able to easily remove the ambient light sensor.
  6. Sixth, using the Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw from the bottom of the monitor casing. Then, loosen the power supply connection and wriggle it free with the use of your fingers.
  7. Seventh, lift the power unit out of its casing and wiggle it slowly. Then, get the new supply out of its packaging. If there is an ambient light sensor, you can leave it on and then reconnect it again once installed.
  8. Eighth, place the new power supply into its proper place.
  9. Ninth, connect the ambient light sensor into the power supply. Then, tighten the brass screws on the corners and the center using a clockwise direction. At the bottom of the monitor casing, a screw also needs to be tightened by using a clockwise direction.
  10. And lastly, close the computer casing by pushing the top portion back with the upper tabs. Then, lock them together and tighten the screws. Reconnect the cables and electrical plug and set the computer up right.
